Senior block officially opened

Yesterday was the dawn ceremony in which our senior block was officially blessed and opened. We were lucky to have Whaea Trish and her father leading the ceremony. Kapa haka students and school councillors also attended.

The new block has been named Nga Rau o te Miro.

On another positive note Room 24 and 25 have had our walls completely covered in Vertiface. The new colour scheme and layout has made a huge difference. To families that haven't been up to see it yet, please come and visit us. It is amazing.

Our new Waiata which corresponds to the name of the building is....

Te kai o te Miro

Te Manu (echo)
E kai ana (echo)
I te Miro
Nona te ngahere
Nona te ngahere

Te Manu (echo)
K Kai ana (echo)
I te matauranga
Nona te ao
Nona te ao
Nona te ao

Which translates to the bird that eats from the Miro tree, will never go hungry, and rules the forest.
The bird who eats from the tree of knowledge rules the world.
